Rice

mmm...mmm...rice. Rice is one of those staples that can be used for just about anything! From main dishes to desserts, rice can be found everywhere! But sometimes people have a hard time making the perfect rice. Well, here you go. :)

For every cup of rice you make, you will need 2 cups water.
Put rice and water in a 2 quart pot.
If you are going to eat rice just by itself, this is where you would add spices. The options are endless, but to keep it simple, I will say 1/2 tsp salt.
Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and cover. Let simmer for 20 minutes.
Remove from heat, fluff, and serve.

Really pretty simple and takes only 30 minutes to make. Whenever it is simmering, that is when I like to take a shower, or get some homework done. Of course, that's when I'm doing it at home. When I'm nannying, I play with the kids one room over and keep an eye out for any roaming kids that may head towards an open flame!
